Scott DeLong, DVM
Owner, Veterinarian
Scott DeLong graduated from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Since graduation, he has practiced medicine in Georgia, beginning at Butler Creek Animal Hospital in Kennesaw, and later with its sister clinic, Cedarcrest Animal Hospital, in Acworth. In 2010, he chose to open Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital in Flowery Branch because he wanted to live closer to family in the nearby Gainesville and Watkinsville areas. Dr. DeLong is passionate about animals and strives to bring the best and most compassionate veterinary care to his patients and their families. His wife, Charlotte, is a ballet instructor and co-artistic director at the Gainesville Ballet Company. They have three children and two dogs.
Emily Hadaway, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Emily Hadaway started working in veterinary clinics over two decades ago (But we’ll just say a long time because decades make her feel old!) She attended the University of Georgia for undergrad and vet school, graduating in 2015. Since then, she has grown to love the relationship she gets to form with her patients and their owners, which helps ensure a great visit for both! On top of providing excellent care to her patients, Dr. Hadaway has a keen interest in surgery and acupuncture.
Dr. Hadaway shares her life with her Husband Matt, stepson Joseph, and their dog Kip. Together, they like to go to sporting events (GO DAWGS) and spend the weekend at the lake when the weather permits.
Matt
Office Manager
Matt has been working with animals for many years. He might be biologically in his thirties, but his knees and back are somewhere in their eighties! He has always wanted to work with animals since he was a young lad and switched from wanting to be a veterinarian to a technician when he found out he would have to go to school for at least 8 years….gross! He was fortunate to work with Dr. Scott DeLong several years ago and is very happy to be working with him again! Matt doesn’t have any animals right now but plans to adopt a cat and a chihuahua in the future.
In his free time, Matt likes to play video games, read, bike, and watch John Wick movies repeatedly.
Christina
Veterinary Receptionist
Christina has been working with animals since 2016 but has been foster/rescuing since 2014. She has been happily married to her husband Blake for many years and has one son named Tristan and three dogs (Cabo, Cooper, and Amelia). Her favorite part of the job is greeting the customers and patients who come to visit us! When asked about hobbies, Christina realized she hasn’t had time and doesn’t even know what those are— she’s a mom!
Brianna
Veterinary Receptionist
Brianna has worked with animals for several years. Her initial interaction with animals began with cows and horses (who she tried to train to be nannies for her siblings, but that fell through). After she was told over and over that she couldn't bring the horses and cows inside, she turned her attention to cats and dogs so she could always have a cuddle buddy—even when they didn’t want it.
Brianna is the oldest of four children. She loved having so many people around her that she decided to adopt three dogs and one cat. She claims they drive her crazy, but she still loves them. We aren’t sure if she means her pets or her siblings. Brianna finds passion in her job through greeting and interacting with all the different animals that come to visit Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital and creating a long-lasting bond.
When not at work, Brianna likes to go to drifting/racing events in hopes of meeting Vin Diesel and racing for pink slips to get his Dodge Charger!
Kim
Veterinary Receptionist
Kim started her animal medicine journey in 2017. In that short time, she filled in as an assistant, receptionist, and technician. Her life has been filled with different experiences with animals. From having a Persian cat as a child to breeding Rottweilers, she has always wanted to have a career with animals.
Along with her fiancé, Daryl, she spends her free time spoiling her grandchildren and her chocolate dapple female Dachshund, Lainey. Her favorite part of her job is getting to see puppies/kittens that grow up happy and healthy with the clinic. When not ruining her kid’s kids by spoiling them, you can find Kim in the kitchen, listening to music, going to concerts, and having her fiancé take her to nice places.
Isaac
Veterinary Technician/Receptionist
Isaac has worked with animals since before he was born. He was raised by a roaming band of wild llamas that taught him their majestic ways. Just kidding……. or are we? The human side of his family consists of two brothers and three sisters. Issac just so happens to be the youngest, which he claims means his parents went through 5 prototypes before reaching perfection with him. Animals are truly his passion, and his favorite part of his job is seeing the individual personalities of each patient and applying personalized care to each one. When not roaming the wild plains of Georgia with his llama brethren, Isaac is in the process of having every hobby known to man. Here are just a few hobbies that consume Isaac’s life: Animals, plants, animals, photography, animals, football, animals, rodeos, helping with his family’s pumpkin patch, and animals!
Macy
Veterinary Technician
Macy started her magical animal journey years ago at PetSmart. This was not her first choice for a career but once she got into the work, she fell in love. One of Macy’s favorite aspects of her job is client education. She holds great pride in informing owners about the importance of vaccinations and preventative medicine. When not educating the masses, her next love is dental cleaning! When not cleaning animals’ teeth or telling clients why it’s so important to clean said teeth, Macy shares her life with her loving fiancé, their cat (Willy), and their dog (Ranger).

Anna
Kennel Technician
Anna has only recently begun her veterinary journey but has grown up with animals her whole life. She loves working with all different types of animals and learning about their individual personalities. When not at work, Anna loves to go shopping for western cow print items, going to rodeos, and spending time with her family.
Alexis
Kennel Technician
Alexis has been around animals her entire life. When she was young, she spent a lot of time with horses. However, once she realized that horses make for poor lap pets, she broadened her horizons to cats and dogs. Her favorite part of the job is being able to interact with so many dogs and cats, from cute ones to super cute ones and, of course, the ultra-cute ones! She also enjoys building a bond with not just the patient but the pet parents as well. When not petting animals or answering phones, Alexis likes to spend her time outside. You can often catch her pulling off sweet tricks on her jet ski or catching fish with her bare hands.
Madalyn
Kennel Technician
Madylyn has been working with animals for the last few years. Beginning with farm work, she made the transition to small animal medicine with Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital. She has a big family, being the middle child of five, and has a special needs sister, Britlyn, whom she adores.
The aspect that makes Madalyn love working at a veterinary clinic is establishing a bond with the patients and helping them feel safe and secure during their visits. When not at work or school, Madalyn likes to sing, paint, and work out. She is currently trying to combine them all into one!

Allison has been a GROOMING WIZARD EXTRODINAR (her description) for over 16 years. She provides excellent care and attention to all fur babies who come to her for their haircuts, and she truly makes it a spa day! Allison is a person in it for the long haul, she has been happily married to her husband for many years! They have two human kids (Jaxon and Tatum) and four canine kids (Eirinn, Bevinn, Min, and Dublin), and we all know who the favorites are! When not at work, Allison likes to spend as much time as possible outdoors. She can typically be found outside enjoying a refreshing drink on a sunny porch (even in winter).
Tiffany
Groomer
Tiffany has been working in the pet industry as a groomer for many years. Although she loves all the dogs that she grooms, she does have a special place in her heart for any Golden Retrievers who come by to see her. Tiffany shares her home with her two girls (Allie and Madelyn), and her 3rd child, her husband (Brad). She also has 4 Guinea pigs, three cats (Tiger, Maui, and Ivy), two dogs (Kodiak, Grizzly), a fish, and a partridge in a pear tree. Her hobbies include camping with the family, hiking, reading (probably about grooming), and crafting.
