Scott DeLong, DVM

Scott DeLong graduated from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Since graduation, he has practiced medicine in Georgia, beginning at Butler Creek Animal Hospital in Kennesaw, and later with its sister clinic, Cedarcrest Animal Hospital, in Acworth. In 2010, he chose to open Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital in Flowery Branch because he wanted to live closer to family in the nearby Gainesville and Watkinsville areas. Dr. DeLong is passionate about animals, and strives to bring the best and most compassionate veterinary care to his patients and their families.

Dr. DeLong grew up in Watkinsville, graduating from Oconee County High School. He currently resides in Gainesville with his wife and three children, and their two dogs, Riley and Sherman.

Michelle Haynes, DVM

Dr. Michelle Haynes aspired to be a veterinarian from a very early age and spent her free time as a teenager volunteering and being mentored in a hometown veterinary practice. She obtained her B. S. degree and her D. V. M. from Auburn University, and has lived and practiced in the Northeast Georgia region since graduating from veterinary school in 2005. Dr. Haynes has served the clients and patients of CMAH on an occasional relief (fill-in) basis since 2011, and as of 2017, has joined the hospital team in a regular capacity. Dr. Haynes and her husband, Glen, have three children, ages 7, 5 and 2. Outside the office, she is a self-avowed crazy cat lady and "mom" to 3 of her own felines, Emma, Dandelion and Penelope. In her leisure time, Dr. Haynes enjoys hiking the beautiful North Georgian mountains, readying on various historical topics, and cheering on her Auburn Tigers.

JeNean - Office Manager/Head Technician

JeNean is currently attending Gwinnett Technical College to get a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her favorite part about working at CMAH is being around people that have the same passion for animals that she does. JeNean has three dogs - a dalmatian named Kiini and two Chihuahuas, Lexi and Chot-ze, a horse named Heidi, and four turtles. In her spare time she likes to go jogging with her dalmatian, ride her horse, camp, do crafts, and spend time with her family.

Staci - Receptionist

Staci has worked in the veterinary field since 2001, and she joined the CMAH team in September 2013.
She loves all animals and has volunteered at several shelters over the years. She has helped organize pet rescue fundraisers and has worked with rescue organizations finding homes for cats and dogs. Staci has a Boxer/Pit mix named Pepsi that she adopted from the Humane Society.
Staci enjoys outings and vacations with her family, keeping up with her active little boy, working out and UGA football.

Shea - Veterinary Assistant

Originally from Alabama, Shea has been working in the animal field for the past 5 years. She loves the challenges the job presents to her, but what she enjoys most is helping the animals. She has two dogs, and hopes to soon have a cat. She spends her free time playing with her two sons, and loves being outdoors, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She has worked at CMAH since the summer of 2015, and she really loves being part of the team. She is currently in school, working toward her Bachelor degree in History, with her goal of being a high school history teacher. Outside of work and school, she enjoys skateboarding and drawing. And she personally has many pets of her own - four cats, three dogs, six goats, chickens and three ducks!

Joe has worked at CMAH for more than six months, and he loves help to provide care for animals, as well as meeting people every day who share the same passion for animals. He is currently a freshman at The University of North Georgia, and he is seeking a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Outside of CMAH, Joe likes to camp with his family and watch the Georgia Bulldogs play. He and his family share six pets - a Doberman Pinscher named Chief, and three cats, Coco, Sammy, and Jibbons. They also have a horse, Misty, and a parakeet named Kiki!
